Jerry Broadway started his career in radio in his home state of Mississippi in 1989, when he took a part-time night shift at a local station so he would have some “walking around money” while working his way through college.
Two years later, he had a change of dreams, and decided not to pursue a career in law enforcement, but to focus his attention instead on what he felt was his true calling….radio.
Through the years, Broadway has worked his way through the ranks. From that tiny station that started it all back in ’89, he built a career that found him in Alabama (Dothan), Oklahoma (Tulsa), Missouri (St. Louis), and now Pittsburgh. The show is syndicated on more than two dozen stations across the country.
During his career, Jerry has been honored with numerous local and statewide awards at various stops along the way. In 1999, he was listed in the Salvation Army’s “Century of Heroes” campaign for his work in getting some 10,000 “angels” (underprivileged children) from the Angel Tree adopted for Christmas over the course of seven years. In 2003 he was named Public Citizen of The Year by the Alabama Association of Social Workers for his work in raising awareness of child abuse with Jerry Broadway’s Rooftop Campout For Kids.
Broadway and Friends was named Best Morning Show by Oklahoma Magazine in 2014, and Favorite Morning Show by the readers of St. Louis Magazine in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and 2020.
In recent years, the show was awarded the Country Music Association Major Market Personality of The Year Award in 2018, as well as the Academy of Country Music Award for both Major Market and National Personality of The Year in 2018 and 2022 respectively.
