WJMN'S RAMIRO TAKES OVER HOST DUTIES ON THE RHYTHMIC MIX OF THE WEEKEND TOP 30

JAM'N 94.5, BOSTON BECOMES FLAGSHIP AFFILIATE

New York, NY – April 22, 2009 -- United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., (USRN), in conjunction with Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton announced today that WJMN/Boston Personality Ramiro will take over host duties on one of the two weekly versions of the CHR countdown show known as Hollywood Hamilton’s Weekend Top 30.    Hollywood Hamilton will remain in the host’s chair for the Mainstream CHR mix of the weekly 3-hour broadcast, but beginning with the program scheduled to air on the weekend of May 9-10, 2009, Ramiro, the popular and successful morning show anchor from “JAM’N 94.5” in Boston, will handle the hosting duties on the Rhythmic CHR version of the program.  Hollywood Hamilton will also remain in an Executive Producer role for the Rhythmic mix hosted by Ramiro, and he will continue to actively contribute interview segments and other feature elements to Ramiro’s broadcast.   Ramiro had been a regular fill-in recently on The Weekend Top 30 and is no stranger to either the duties or the show’s affiliates.

Hollywood Hamilton’s syndicated programs began as Hollywood Hamilton’s Rhythm Top30 Countdown in late February of 1998 and evolved into HOLLYWOOD HAMILTON’S WEEKEND TOP 30 in the spring of 2001.   Since the start of 2006, United Stations has handled the distribution of the series, which is available in two versions, one for pop-leaning stations and one for more rhythmic hit music outlets.   A third weekly Hollywood Hamilton program, the 4-hour Remix Top 40 was added during the first broadcast week of February 2009.

The change to a new host for the Rhythmic version of the program comes hot on the heels of the recent addition of Hollywood Hamilton to the weekday airstaff at 104.3 MYfm in Los Angeles (KBIG-FM) as well as the recent introduction of Hollywood Hamilton’s Remix Top 40 on United Stations.  According to USRN’s EVP/Programming, Andy Denemark, “Doing three highly-produced weekend shows per week plus a daily shift for both WKTU/New York and 104.3 MYfm in Los Angeles was getting to be too much for Hollywood.   We brainstormed about the best solution, and what we’ve come up with is a win-win-win… Ramiro is a major talent on the rise, JAM’N 94.5 is a fantastic station to have as a partner and our affiliates already love his on-air style.”

Ramiro Torres is one of the nation’s most successful radio personalities and is also a respected TV Personality in New England.  He’s been a major factor on the Boston radio airwaves for the past 12 years, first as host of the #1 rated night and afternoon shows and now as #1 Morning Show Host in Boston, all at WJMN-FM.  Born in Everett, MA, Ramiro landed his first radio job right out of broadcasting school at a small New England station.    In 2007 Ramiro was awarded a Latin Pride National Award for Excellence in Radio Broadcasting.
